Blog - The Algarve

If you are looking for a destination to spend your Christmas vacation or to spend mid-week or weekend breaks during the Christmas season at a cost that will not break the bank, then the Algarve is a very good choice for you. Why?

When one hears the word safari, it immediately conjures up a picture of Africa, and its big 5 game. But there is another type of safari that is taking the world by storm namely the Seafari. Seafaris enable you to see marine life in its natural habitat. Just like  its sister program, it enables you to see big game, which in the sea  equates to  dolphins  and  whales , not to mention having the opportunity to  observe other marine life as well.

You are on holiday in the Algarve, and it is now time to look for little gifts to take home with you. The best gift is one that is not only unusual but also perfect for the recipient. Would it not be nice that you or someone that you know will receive an unusual gift?

I know we are still in summer, after all it is still July, it is also blistering hot, your town is still packed with people and it feels like autumn is still months away. Just like what we are experiencing in Lagos ourselves. But in fact, autumn is just around the corner.

In the Algarve, from Sagres to Faro there are a few beaches were you, as a visitor need to be aware of the risks that you, your family or your friends can face. Most of the beaches that are identified are well signed with warnings. We heed you to take notice of them and act responsibly for the sake of your safety and your loved ones. The picture above display typical warnings.

Over the past few years we have walked the town and its "freguesias" (parishes) ... we have met with a myriad of people, covering most nationalities as well as economic dispensations. It has been an enlightening experience. With the launch of this website, we decided to share with you some of our past experiences that I've recorded in my diaries, as well as new ones as we progress with our walk-about in the region.

I know that we are stil many months away from Christmas. But at the same time it does no harm to start planning ahead. If you really want to make the most of your Christmas this year you should treat you and your family to a fantastic weekend away in the Algarve, either over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, or just during the run-up to it.

With the start of a new year, the first two months of the year is the perfect time to clean up all the cobwebs that have built during the previous year. Many people view January and February as boring months, but we see these months as the perfect months to do many things that you would not normally do.   For example, take long walks through our town and villages, go to the beach, pamper yourself with a spa visit, read a book, listen to music ... or just reflect on your life.
