Most people are unaware that there are specific days of the week on which flights are cheaper. Fortunately there are a few days of the week and not just a single day when you can get good offers and discounts from airlines, thus enabling you to make your trip more affordable and cheaper.


Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are according to seasoned travelers the cheapest days to fly. If you are staying in one country, and will be using a domestic airline, you will find that the Wednesday flights are the cheapest.

This is because most of the time, travelers prefer to fly either on a Friday or on a Sunday and as a result these are the most expensive days to travel. It is also the days most used by business travelers and as a result, the airlines increase their prices accordingly.


But it is a fact that there are normally many empty seats on a Tuesday and a Wednesday, and it is up to you to take advantage of it.

If you just want a weekend away, it’s best to fly on a Saturday and return on a Monday or even on a Tuesday.

When it comes to flying cheap, you must consider the days that in which you can get the most reasonable airfares.

In that regard, Tuesday is the perfect day to plan your travel, as on that day you are most likely to get the best flight bargains. You will notice surcharges added to the prices on the other days, and these can vary from a minimum of €10 to a couple of hundreds.


The best way to find out which are the best days to fly, is to think which are the most unattractive days for the business class and those who fly frequently. Put yourself in their shoes.

So, all in all, when you are planning your flight to Faro on your way to the Algarve make these two days the most favored when it comes to the best time to buy your airline tickets, these savings could assist in carrying your accommodation costs and leave you with more money to spend on your holiday.
